Social media strategy

A social media strategy defines which networks to use, for which goals, with what content and posting rhythm, and how to measure results, to focus effort in Morocco.

A social media strategy is not about posting a lot, but about posting right: on the right channels, with the right message and a sustainable rhythm. The business goal comes first; followers follow. ## The network follows the audience The choice of channels is deduced from customers, not from the team's habits. A company selling to consumers in several cities often benefits from concentrating on Facebook and Instagram; a B2B company on LinkedIn, with an opportunistic presence on Instagram. ## Content that helps people decide The most profitable content answers a real customer question: price, lead time, comparison, proof. Behind-the-scenes content and human faces build trust, which is very important in Morocco, where many purchases are decided after a conversation. ## Organisation creates consistency Most strategies fail for lack of regular production. A calendar, a visual bank and one monthly filming session are worth more than a brainstorm every week.

When this guide is for you

  • You post regularly without knowing what the networks bring you
  • You want to choose between Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook based on your audience
  • Your team or provider works without a common goal or calendar
  • You are preparing a launch, a season (Ramadan, back to school) or a new offering
  • Your followers are growing but contact requests are flat

Step by step

  1. Start from customers and goals — Describe precisely the target customers (age, city, network usage, buying moments) and a measurable business goal: contacts, quote requests, sales, local awareness. One goal per network and per period is better than a list of ambitions.
  2. Choose a limited number of channels — Two to three well-run networks often outperform five neglected ones. For most Moroccan SMEs, Facebook and Instagram remain the base; TikTok for a young, visual audience; LinkedIn for B2B; WhatsApp as an extension of customer service.
  3. Define content and rhythm — Establish several content pillars (expertise, behind the scenes, customer proof, product, trends) and a realistic rhythm: 3 to 5 posts per week on main networks, adapted to each network's format.
  4. Plan production — Organise batched production (filming and visuals in one day), a shared editorial calendar and approvals. Organisation is what prevents weeks without posts and last-minute improvised posts.
  5. Measure and adjust every month — Track reach, interactions, messages received and visits from social networks. Stop formats that produce nothing and double down on those that bring requests.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Posting everywhere without a clear goal, then judging results by follower count
  • Copying the same content to every network without regard for formats
  • Ignoring messages and comments: they are often the most qualified requests
  • Launching a strategy without sufficient production capacity, then abandoning it after a month
  • Measuring likes rather than contacts, visits and sales
  • Neglecting visual consistency, which makes the brand less recognisable

Frequently asked questions

How many posts per week?

Better 3 to 5 solid posts per week than 10 weak ones. On TikTok, 4 to 7 videos per week help feed the algorithm; on LinkedIn, 2 to 3 are often enough.

Which networks for a Moroccan SME?

Facebook remains the broadest network across all generations, Instagram for visual products, TikTok for 18–34 year olds, LinkedIn for B2B. WhatsApp is mainly used to turn conversations into orders.

How long before seeing results?

The first signals (reach, messages) appear within 4 to 8 weeks. Steady growth generally requires 3 to 6 months of consistent posting.

Is advertising needed for it to work?

Not necessarily, but sponsored posts accelerate reach, especially with few followers. An effective practice is to boost posts that already receive the most messages.

How do I know if content brings customers?

Track links with UTM tags, qualified inbound messages and requests that mention the post. A monthly report crossing these figures allows you to reallocate effort.
