When this guide is for you
- You are paying for advertising and spend is rising without sales increasing
- Your site receives traffic but few quote requests or orders
- You want to know where visitors drop off before creating content or campaigns
- You have completed a redesign and want to check conversion before relaunching advertising
Step by step
- Define conversion and measure it — Choose a main action (form, call, cart, quote request) and check that it is correctly counted in Google Analytics 4. Without reliable measurement, any optimisation is an opinion.
- Analyse the journey and the obstacles — Study funnels, exit pages and session recordings. Ask a few customers what made them hesitate. List the concrete obstacles: missing price, long form, unclear lead time, slow page on mobile.
- Prioritise fixes by impact — Start with the obstacles on the page where the most visitors pass and drop off. A fix on the contact page is often worth more than a full site redesign.
- Test properly — Compare two versions (A/B) for long enough for the result to be reliable, changing one thing at a time. Stopping a test after two days gives false certainty.
- Keep what wins and start again — Publish the winning version, document the result and move on to the next test. CRO is a continuous cycle: one or two tests a month are enough to make progress.
What it costs (in MAD)
| Service | Indicative price | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| CRO audit and journey analysis | 8,000 – 30,000 MAD (≈ 730 – 2,700 €) | Data analysis, interviews, prioritised list |
| Conversion fixes (forms, pages) | 10,000 – 45,000 MAD (≈ 900 – 4,100 €) | Depending on the number of pages and technical complexity |
| Monthly testing programme | 5,000 – 20,000 MAD per month (≈ 450 – 1,800 €) | Test design, implementation and analysis |
Indicative ranges for the Moroccan market in 2026, excluding tax. Prices vary with scope and provider.
Mistakes to avoid
- Changing a button colour hoping for a miracle instead of addressing the real obstacles
- Running several tests at once: impossible to know what produced the result
- Judging a test on clicks rather than on the enquiries generated
- Ignoring mobile speed, which remains one of the leading causes of abandonment in Morocco
Frequently asked questions
What conversion gain can be expected?
On a site that has never been optimised, gains of 20 to 50 % in conversion rate are common within a few months, often thanks to simple fixes: shorter form, visible prices and lead times, mobile speed, visible phone number. Beyond that, gains become slower.
Do you need a lot of traffic to test?
You need enough conversions for the result not to be chance: around one hundred conversions per version. Below that, it is better to fix the obvious obstacles than to wait for a statistically conclusive test.
CRO or advertising: where to start?
Because CRO improves every traffic source, it is often more cost-effective first. A conversion improvement applies to organic traffic, advertising and social media at once.
How long does an A/B test take?
Generally two to four weeks for a site with a few thousand visits per month. You need to cover at least one full weekly cycle and avoid exceptional promotional periods.
